This week, markets ended marginally up. Sensex was up 0.35% and Nifty was up 0.5%. However, Nifty Junior stood down 0.5%. In broader markets, CNX Midcap Index stood down 0.8% and BSESmall-cap Index stood down 1%.
Index losers were Bharti Airtel, down 11%, Reliance Communication, down 4.5% and Reliance Infra, down 5.5%. Index gainers were Hindalco, up 8.5% and Tata Steel, up 5%.
BSE Realty Index ended down 5.5%, in which Unitech was down 6% and DLF was down 5%. BSE Oil & Gas Index stood down 1.5%, in which Reliance Industries was down 3% and GAIL was down 2%. BSE Healthacre Index stood up 1.8%, in which Ranbaxy Labs stood up 6.2% and Sun Pharma stood up 2%. BSE Bank Index stood up 1.5%, in which HDFC Bank was up 6.2% and Axis Bank was up 6%.
Small-cap losers were Shree Shree Ashtavinayak, down 21%, KRBL, down 15% and Rama Newsprint & Papers, down 14%. Midcap losers were Indiabulls Real Estate, down 12.5%, Orbit Corp, down 7% and Ansal Properties, down 5.5%. Sugar losers were Balrampur Chini, down 8.5% and Bajaj Hindustan, down 7.5%.
Midcap gainers were Amtek India, up 22%, S Kumars, up 12% and Orchid Chemicals, up 11%. Small-cap gainers were Firstobject Technoogies, up 27%, Jindal Photo, up 22% and Hind Rectifiers, up 19%.
