Zicom sells two of its integration business divisions to Schneider for Rs 225 crore. The company is planning to exit integration business. Zicom's current market cap is of Rs 155 crore.
In its press release, Zicom Electronic Security Systems has informed that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the company will be held on March 05, 2010, to consider & decide on the developments involving strategic changes in operations / business of the company.
The electronic security major has been operating in all segments of the market since its inception in 1995. The institutional and government business of the company it represented by Building Solutions Group and Special Project Group while the SME business is represented by Zicom Retail Pvt Ltd and the fire business by Unisafe Fire Protection Services LLC, Dubai.
Zicom being a pure play security company could not take advantage of the market place. Thus the agreement with Schneider Electric, the global specialist in Energy Management was seen as a good decision.
Zicom Security Systems touched a 52 week high of Rs 128.90 in today's trade. The stock touched an intra day high of Rs 128.90 and an intra day low of Rs 112.80 and at 10:04 AM, the share was quoting at Rs 121.10, up Rs 8.80, or 7.84%, trading with volumes of 453,171 shares, compared to its 5-day average of 53,706 shares, an increase of 743.79%. Yesterday the share closed up 0.72% or Rs 0.80 at Rs 112.30.
